On October 19, 2004, the city of Houston officially proclaimed “Shi De Shan Day” in honor of Grandmaster Shi De Shan, a revered figure in martial arts and a true embodiment of Shaolin wisdom and strength. Recognized by Mayor White and Council Member Quan, Grandmaster Shi De Shan’s contributions to martial arts and cultural heritage were celebrated with the presentation of an official Shaolin sword. This gift, a symbol of strength and dedication, honors the enduring bond between the Zhong Yue Shaolin Temple and the city of Houston.
This day continues to remind us of the global reach and influence of Shaolin traditions, led by Grandmaster Shi De Shan’s inspiring guidance.
